Courtney Payne

Courtney Payne began her dance training at age six, and she sustained that pursuit through high school at Arts Academy in the Woods, under the direction of Jenny Meeks. As an undergraduate dance major, she enjoyed the tutelage of renowned artists and professors such as Stephen Hadala, Tracy Halloran, Zandria Lucas, and Susan Panek. During her tenure at Madonna University, she performed with MUse Dance Ensemble in numerous concerts, to include representing and competing at the annual American College Dance Association (ACDA) conference. As she developed technical proficiency in ballet, modern, and jazz, she earned the privilege of becoming a member of the professional dance company, ConteXture Dance DETROIT. She has also performed as a guest soloist for Intrinsic Movement Collective, Suttle Dance Company’s annual showcase “Shattered”, and Fluid Expressions Artist Festival. In May 2022, Courtney achieved a Bachelor of Arts in Dance from Madonna University. In addition to Courtney’s competence on stage, she is an exceling choreographer. Ms. Payne plans to continue training, auditioning, and seizing artistic opportunities as a teacher, choreographer, and performer.
